Tasting Notes
uitlander spotted McManis 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon flying off the special offer shelves. Since we sampled it, she has been back to relieve Tesco's of the remaining bottles. I'm not inclined to agree with their own notes about "substantial" levels of tannins, I thought that, whilst noticeable, they were on the light side. But it certainly was fruity and full-bodied, and definitely worth keeping an eye out for more.

It was very full bodied, but unlike most reds of that genre left an almost bright aftertaste of light summer fruits. Not what I'd describe as a A roasted heavy toast oaken finish. Its a Californian wine, and very different in style to the Australian, French and Italian wines I'm used to. Definitely a find. Such a pity it was labelled 'end of line offer'.
