Well, this week's Torchwood was rather better. As a series it's turning out to be very patchy; perhaps it's just over-hyped - after all, how much TV is actually consistently good? - or perhaps, as it's being turned out on BBC3 first, there's more risk-taking in the writing, and a lot of that isn't working. Anyhow, I thought it was a good story, with a strongly traditional-Who supporting character (I'm thinking Professor Amelia Rumford in The Stones of Blood) and a twist (perhaps not really very convincing) into Jack's past. On the down side, it seems like a reworking of Fear Her in many ways, but done rather better.
