It would appear that the bottom has fallen out of the sausage market. The man with the nice sausages hasn't been at the Farmers' Market for two months now, and his prices were last seen heading in an upward direction. Meanwhile, two of the other stalls had offers of 3 packs fo £6 or even 3 packs for £5. It's not quite the whole chicken for £2.50. I'm left more bewildered than ever - surely the original motivation for Farmers' Markets was to be a virtuous circle for everyone apart from the supermarkets - the farmers getting a better price for their goods, with the consumer also getting a better deal by removing the middle-man - but I'm not sure that's how it has turned out, with lots of jam and cake stalls it sometimes looks more like the WI.
