Don't Mention The War
We go on holiday in just over a week's time, and this evening it has come to mind just how busy I am between now and then.

- Proms this Thursday
- In-laws visiting Saturday
- 2x Proms on Sunday
- Proms next Monday

So I'm printing out our e-tickets (does that sound ironic to anyone else?) and hotel details now. I'm looking forward to the holiday (Munich, Dresden, Berlin); not so much to Heathrow T5 and BA. I don't want to tempt fate, but it seemed fairly straightforward to book trains on http://www.bahn.co.uk. Unlike British trains, they don't have a "quiet" carriage; instead there is a "silent" one. How Germanic.

German trains are incredible!! They tell you what platform you need on the ticket and everything, even if it's weeks in advance. And then you turn up at the station, and the train is on the right platform at the right time. Genius!
