I don't watch much on BBC1, but when I caught a trailer for this a week or two ago I commented to kharin that "David Tennant in the desert with a double-decker bus looks a lot like Time-Flight". Fortunately it turned out rather better than that, though I did find it a bit "wacky" in places and it did have the feeling of a lot of re-hashed ideas thrown in the melting pot. Perhaps they should have thrown in Maurice Jarré's Lawrence of Arabia theme in for un-original good measure, though that had to wait for Confidential. It was particularly interesting to hear that filming did take place in Dubai - I'd assumed it was all a CGI desert - and that the bus hadn't originally intended to be damaged.
I hope Captain Magambo has a longer future with the Doctor than Harriet Jones, and I fear (unless we can have Derek Jacobi back) that strange_complex may be right about "he will knock four times".
