I met up with
kharin in Oxford late yesterday afternoon, and we headed over to
Moya for some tasty Slovakian cuisine and - in his case - a Sloe Gin Sling. We caught the bus for the trek out to Botley and back, where we passed birthday felicitations to
addedentry and
j4, and sampled a fabulously self-rerential
QR Code Cake. Fortunately neither of us are gadget junkies - our phones are limited to the ability to make and receive phone calls, and possibly text messages - so we did not need to test our phones on the cake, which apparently crashed an iPhone.
We made use of the little-publicised but remarkably sensible
PlusBus tickets in Oxford, but integrated public transport failed at the last step: whilst the buses to Burghfield have been improved recently, and include late-night buses to 2.30am on Friday and Saturday nights, there is a 2-hour void between 22.30 and 00.30, so I took the car into Reading.
