I met up with kharin in Oxford late yesterday afternoon, and we headed over to Moya for some tasty Slovakian cuisine and - in his case - a Sloe Gin Sling. We caught the bus for the trek out to Botley and back, where we passed birthday felicitations to addedentry and j4, and sampled a fabulously self-rerential QR Code Cake. Fortunately neither of us are gadget junkies - our phones are limited to the ability to make and receive phone calls, and possibly text messages - so we did not need to test our phones on the cake, which apparently crashed an iPhone.

We made use of the little-publicised but remarkably sensible PlusBus tickets in Oxford, but integrated public transport failed at the last step: whilst the buses to Burghfield have been improved recently, and include late-night buses to 2.30am on Friday and Saturday nights, there is a 2-hour void between 22.30 and 00.30, so I took the car into Reading.

Thank you for coming! What did you make of Moya? We went last year and, having prepared unoriginal jokes about the variety of dumplings, were impressed by how tasty they were.

But my colleague tells me they've since reduced the number of Slovakian dishes on the menu to concentrate on being a cocktail bar. (She's Czech.)

Thank you for inviting us! We both ended up opting for Segedin, though there were quite a few options on the menu that I'd have considered. I thought the food was good; but I can see that the cocktail bar aspect might be more profitable.
