Something old, something new

Well, the weather hasn't been anything to get excited about over the weekend, but we have eaten rather well. Last night I experimented, with a roast guinea fowl with summer berry sauce, and tonight it's been Roman: Ham with Fennel and Red Wine sauce, and Mushroom Patina. The adaptation from Apicius contained the instruction to blend the sauce in a food processor; as a blood-red colour appeared in the vessel, I wondered what Livia would have made of such technology.
