I had a (seasonal) flu jab this afternoon, as my new employer pays for it. To be honest I didn't previously know you could get it at all unless you were in one of the "high-risk" groups. I don't think I've had any vaccinations since I was at school, and I have more than one memory of enormous needles, pained arms and bruises, so this - which looked quite innocuous (no pun intended) and which I hardly felt, came as something of a relief. I'm somewhat ambivalent about proactive interference in these things; it's easier to let nature take its course. As a freebie I also seem to have acquired about a month's supply of "good bacteria". The marketing slogan on the packet is "flavour-free".
