Book Review: jQuery in Action, by Bear Bibeault and Yehuda Katz
In a previous job, we used the prototype.js framework for web development, but here the tool of choice is jQuery, so although I am primarily a Java developer, I do get drawn in to all aspects of the product, and it seemed a good idea to get at least an overview.

I did find the book quite comprehensive, and certainly have a better feel for how the basics (and some of the more advanced techniques) work. Understandably, it's a bit light on jQuery plug-ins, though it does cover jQueryUI quite well. I'm still not much the wiser on JavaScript closures though (which, to be fair, was not in the scope of the book, though they are mentioned frequently).
