You've changed it all, haven't you? I don't like it.

The BBC Proms 2011 programme has been announced. For the life of me, I can't find the "whole season" view on the website, and to discover what's on in any individual concert you have to drill down into that concert; I infer that faceted browsing is what your average cool and trendy Promenader is into. I suppose the BBC may have noticed that there's not much point paying for a Proms guide if it's easy to obtain the same information for free online.

Anyway, my initial thought are that there's not much must-see, but a fair bit of might-enjoy this or that. Also there is far too much Ravel.

Top priorities:
Prom 22 - all the Rachmaninov you can eat, conducted by Gianandrea Noseda
Prom 32 - Mahler - Das klagende Lied
Prom 47 - Haitink conducts Brahms - plus possibly interesting Late Night Prom
Prom 49 - Haitink conducts more Brahms
Prom 56 - Mahler 6; from what I've seen, I'm interested to see Semyon Bychkov conducting

Middling priorities:
Prom 8 - Dvořák & Smetana
Prom 21 - Alexander Nevsky and Salome
Prom 33 - Sibelius 6, Grieg's Piano Concerto (by Grieg); not necessarily so convinced by Nielsen in the second half
Prom 35 - Liszt, Glière & Rachmaninov
Prom 41 - mostly Britten

Other options:
Prom 6 - the Brahms double concerto is interesting, but could I stand through The Riot of Spring? - plus Late Night Prom: Schubert's String Quintet
Prom 38 - film music
Prom 43 - Copland, Bax, Barber, Bartók & Prokofiev
Prom 44 - Shostakovich, Stravinsky & Tchaikovsky
PSM 3 - Hildegard of Bingen, possibly cancelled out by Harrison Birtwistle
Prom 51 - Brahms 1
Prom 52 - Prokofiev 1 and 5
Prom 53 - Stravinsky, Rimsky-Korsakov and Tchaikovsky
Prom 55 - Handel's Rinaldo - strange_complex take note
Prom 63 - Liszt and Mahler 1 (plus Blumine) - Late Night Prom might be interesting too
PSM 4 - Tippet, Tavener, and Gubaidulina
Prom 69 - Wagner and Mahler 5
Prom 72 - Sibelius, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, and Ravel (but it's La valse which isn't so bad)
Prom 73 - Weber arr. Berlioz – Der Freischütz
