As predicted

When I got up on Friday morning I had an awkward judgement call to make. There was very light snow on the ground but the forecast was for much more. In the end I decided to work from home. It was the right call - around 8am it started coming down much more heavily and stayed that way until early afternoon, at which point it reverted to snowing lightly for most of the rest of the day. The forecast had turned out to be remarkably accurate.

The only unexpected event was that, this morning, I encountered a council lorry gritting the estate road. This is unheard of, and may possibly mean my repeated grumblings to the local councillor (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) have got through. Most of the slope is clear of snow and ice; at the top of the hill, the flat section is somewhat icy but passable with care. If it doesn't get any worse, or if my VPN connection (which was working fine yesterday but has broken today) isn't back, I'll be back in the office on Monday, but we'll see.
