La traviata

Yesterday (thanks to some organising by rosamicula, whom we unfortunately did not meet at the occasion) we went to see ENO's production of La traviata. I thought the music and the singing was good; I was less convinced about the "set" (frankly minimal) or the decision to run the whole performance without an interval. Unfortunately various people took it upon themselves to take an interval anyway, which led to an awful lot of shuffling. The plot seems a bit flimsy - and perhaps La boheme, with which it shares quite a few ideas, is better (I rather regret not taking the opportunity to see that last year).
