Making the planes run on time

Took a trip on Saturday with kharin to the Estorick Collection of modern Italian art. The day was cold but bright; the gallery was calm. The permanent collection is quite small but features some interesting works, such as Balla's The Hand of the Violinist. The current exhibition, Futurist Skies: Italian Aeropainting, was a curious mixture of styles: in their various ways, the influences of Art Deco, cubism, realism, Mussolini and the Catholic Church could all be seen.
