Well, that turned out much better than the trailer would have suggested. Definitely the best RTD episode since Rose. Ultimately a very traditional Doctor Who plot line, with its "moral", and even with the Doctor having things to do. I'm a bit surprised that we've still got Captain Jack, unless he stays behind on whats-it-called in-between episodes, though that seems unlikely; he certainly seemed like something of a spare part this week (except for all his flirting). And it looks like maybe my wish will be fulfilled next week, if you can tolerate the Ann-Robinson-meets-the-Smash-Robots sub-plot.
It's not over yet, of course, but I can already say I think it has been a mixed but generally good season. Which is, when you think about it, just like the old days.
