Blimey - The Titfield Thunderbolt
Heisenberg might have stayed here
I signed the contract for my kitchen yesterday and now I have an delivery and installation date. 24th Feburary. This is a bit quicker than I was expecting. Psychologically the downside is that I'll have to shell out the main chunk of the cost one pay cheque earlier than I'd expected, but the savings are there to cover it, and I can hardly complain. Well, not yet, anyway.

Is this John Lewis? Let us know how it goes, I'm thinking about a new kitchen (from them or elsewhere)...

Yes it is. I'll keep you posted. 'Tis not cheap (but at the other end of the spectrum, one could pay a lot more) but it seemed the best compromise between price and expected standards. And my parents used them for kitchens twice (though that was in the Frozen NorthTM and 25 years ago).

From what you've said to me, it sounds like you have a reasonable deal... and after my kitchen saga, I am rather wishing I had been more pushy at John Lewis when they consistently had no sales people available in the kitchen dept.

Unfortunately for your case, they are very adamant about any building works being completed first, so I doubt you would have had much joy anyway.
